I'm a rebel spitting constant nonsense
Vowels and consonants keep my conscious honest
But when spilled from my lips to the masses
These sonnets get twisted out of context
So I'd rather keep my lips silenced
Words misconstrued cause too much violence
Those syllables were rumored to be true
But the truth is, those syllables are tools of the tyrants
So now I have to make amends
I'm fighting, again, with the might of my pen
But it isn't war I endorse
That's a meaningless cycle that does not end
I mean, I have a message to send
These letters are seeds, not the weapons of men
The foundation of new generations
Waiting for their chance to ascend
I'm a lunatic, trying to turn the tables
Maker of myths and fanciful fables
Someone has to break free of the herd
Zeus knows I'm willing, let's see if I'm able
Even if the move proves fatal
Someone has to unplug the cable
Stepping out on a limb of the tree's top
I came to stop the fall of the cradle
Who put this kid in a tree?
Precariously, teetering up in the canopy
Yea, the population's out of control
But Jesus, this is not the way it should be
Hush little baby
I know at first glance the world's not much to see
But the people really aren't all bad
Though if you can't trust them, at least trust me
I'm a wanderer and I have lost my way
Trying to see the stars, though it's a cloudy day
But instead of moving away
I meditate, and wait for the starry display
Yea, I know the skies are gray
But I shall stay, from this road I cannot stray
So even if the elements assault me
My resolve is strong and won't decay
I still got a lot to learn though
Before this spark ignites an inferno
Trying to find my love, like Dante
But I keep on walking around in circles
I'm just trying to let my mind grow
Just trying to find my own glow
So even if the lights go out, there is no doubt
